A Hope & A Prayer

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the Lord stands for ever,
the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.

The Lord looks down from heaven;
he sees all humankind.
From where he sits enthroned he watches
all the inhabitants of the earth—
he who fashions the hearts of them all,
and observes all their deeds.
A king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a vain hope for victory,
and by its great might it cannot save.

Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love,
to deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.

Our soul waits for the Lord;
he is our help and shield.
Our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.

Psalm 33:10-22 (NRSV)

Praying that the ECMO machine leaves your room, Ewan. You can do this! You are stronger than you think you are!

Kirsten - I just read this on a friends FB page and thought of you and what your dealing with right now!

"Instead of telling God how big your fears are, start telling your fears how big your God is."

We continue to pray for Ewan, you and James, and can only hope that you can feel what the power of prayer can actually accomplish!

Hey started following you from Baby Joshie's blog. I was born with a heart defect and am almost 30.

Just wanted to send a song of encouragement that has always meant so much to me.

It Is Well

I heard you on the call-in radio show of EWTN...your voice reached all the way here to NJ, but your heart reaches to places unseen. May God answer all your prayers and grant you and Ewan strength for all that is to come. Be assured of prayers from me.

Continued blessings to you and your family, Ree

Hi,

I stumbled across your blog and wanted to say that I will be praying for you and Ewan. I am 38 Y.O. and I was born with TOF. I had one surgery at 2 and only one episode of Atrial Flutter about 10 years ago.. so far. I hope this gives you some hope.

The site wouldn't load for me last night... and I've been praying hard, Kirsten.
How did the xray go?

I guess I'm going to have to get with it and follow fb and twitter to stay current :)

how you are weaving such beauty and grace and hope in this story is beyond me. I am so humbled.

hugs,and prayers,
and may you continue to find the peace you need each and every moment

Just happened on your blog a few weeks ago when I did the EM diet--loved your writing and then learned about Ewan and have been offering rosaries since. I know Padre Pio is right there with Ewan!!
